Summary
|
Wiesner
applies dramatic and surprising plot twists to the popular tale of The Three Pigs. In his version the wolf’s attempts to blow
the pigs out of their houses results in two of the pigs being blown
completely out of the story. The third
pig joins and they embark on an interesting adventure landing them in nursery
rhymes and fairytales. During the
adventure, the three pigs are joined by a dragon who wants to escape his
impending slaying. These wild events
prevent the wolf from successfully dining on the three pigs.

Description of how you would use book with
students
|
This
book would be a great mentor text for a writing assignment requiring students
to create their own endings to existing stories. I would also use this book to teach
fairytale elements.
